STEPS TO SUCCESS and TRAINING GUIDELINES |
Starting martial arts TRAINING for the first time can seem challenging. Here are a few practical steps to help you get started successfully:
|
Step 1
Introduce yourself to the instructor before class begins. Let him/her know about any health concerns you might have, and let him/her know this is your first class.
|
Step 2
Ask questions before and after class to better understand the practice: we all have different questions, so do ask and help to create a constructive relationship with your teacher; he/she is there to help you.
|
Step 3
Practice regularly between training classes to get best results: Once a week will be insufficient if you seek to enjoy the full benefits traditional Chinese martial arts can bring.
|
Step 4
Arrive 10 minutes before the class starts - to change and settle down.
|
Step 5
Try not to eat for at least 2 hours before your training, and keep yourself hydrated (bring a bottle of water to the class).
|
|
Martial Arts Etiquette
For the enhancement of your training:
All classes start on time. Once class starts, you will be required to wait patiently and quietly until the instructor indicates for you to begin training.
Please do not leave the training room while class is in progress.
Please do not bring mobile phones or other electronic equipment/leisure items into the class.
Be courteous to the instructor, other students, and members of staff at the training venue at all times.
Students are reminded that the instructor's role is to guide and assist students through the class, which may not include the demonstration of all techniques/applications on any given training session.
